The Leki World Cup Race Titanium S Gloves are about the warmest and most protected thing you can wrap your hands into. This 100% Premium Goatskin glove has Thinsulate Insulation to keep you warm as you wait for your run. Titanium Protection on the knuckles smashes the gates instead of the gates smashing you. The fingers of this beast are pre-curved to make your grip on poles much easier. A loop located between the index finger and thumb snaps right into your Leki Trigger S Poles. If you want the most warmth and protection this is the race glove for you.
The Leki World Cup Coach Flex S GTX Gloves have Thinsulate Insulation underneath polyester softshell material to keep you warm while you wait for the race to start. The fingers are protected by ceramic and pre-curved to give you an easy grip on your Leki Poles. The loop between the index finger and thumb snap right into the poles. The Flex Zone and Grip Zone make it very easy for you to grip any other pole.
Welcome to Ski Talk. I'm Tom from skis.com and today I'm joined by Ray from Leki. Hows it going Ray? Great Tom, how are you doing today? Very well. We have an awesome couple of gloves to share with you guys today, both the World Cup Ti and the Coach Flex from Leki. But lets start out with the World Cup Ti. Yeah, Tom, the World Cup Titanium or the World Cup Ti this is the real deal. This is like the Indy race car of the glove world. When you saw the guys at Beaver Creek and a the World Championships this year, when you saw the men and women that were racing on Leki, this is the glove that you saw on their hand. It is 100% full World Cup protection. This is, as you said, this is the pinnacle of protection you've got an incredibly oversized, rubberized and metal inlaid panel on the back of the hand. Right and actually the reason we call it a Ti is that its a titanium panel that's put on to the front of the glove for knuckle protection. You've got protection on the fingers, on the knuckles of the fingers and if you don't know a lot about the Leki glove, one of the things with Leki is; when you buy a pair of Leki poles, it comes with a strap on the pole. And the strap can be released, so its very convenient and it also offers a safety feature of being able to come out. When you buy a Leki glove that strap is integrated into the glove. And with the World Cups you guys do that through your speed system which is not only the additional safety that's built into the pole but the glove has some shock absorption built into it? Right, first of all when you talk about the strap, you have a piece of nylon parachute cord built in right here, that's the loop that you see. But that loop is then attached to a full nylon strap that goes throughout the entire glove so you have the full feel of a strap providing all the grip and all the power that you want in the glove. Then that clicks into the pole and you're locked in and now it becomes an entire system. Basically the grip, the pole and the glove all become one. And that's fantastic, I mean you really do feel that connectivity and the pinnacle of it is in the World Cup Ti. Right and when you talked about the speed system, the speed system has a little elastic band on here also that allows some shock absorption in the poles so when the racers are hitting on icy slopes and this and that and the pole is taking extra shocks, its providing a little bit of absorption so you're not going to be thrown around as much. Awesome. And then kind of the awesome feature to the World Cup Ti is a full leather glove with your grip palm on there. Right, you have super grippy palm area so you're positive on that grip. And now if you don't need the super high-end World Cup Ti version the one you're wearing right there is a great alternative as well. Right, this is actually my everyday glove and not necessarily for bashing through gates but this is the Coach Flex. The Coach Flex gives you all the protection of the race glove, the padded knuckles and all those things and the grippy palm and the whole works, but rather than the titanium insert, this glove ends up being about $50 less for your racer. And its a little bit more of a soft shell material and GoreTex lined as well so super breathable, keep you dry all day. Right and very unique to a racing product, this glove is warm. Partially because of the GoreTex and keeping moisture out but this thing is warm for all season skiing. Awesome, so if you're looking for a truly protective race glove, definitely check out the World Cup Ti and the Coach Flex over at skis.com. Thanks for joining us. Thanks Tom.
